TREX - Error 'cannot export documents' while indexing PDF files

Hi all,

I´m still trying to get all my PDFs indexed, I can´t figure out the problems caused by some of them. The text is not in bitmaps, they have different pdf-versions (1.2, 1.3) and they are different in size (6k - 22k).

I´ve already looked in all relevant threads in this forum and sent a message to SAP support. They told me, indexing of my PDF worked fine on their system and they would like to have a look at my servers. Unfortunately our techies have not yet configured the remote proxy, so SAP-support cannot log on my machine.

I hope one of you can help me, I´m very new to the SAP-World and have to get KMC working asap.

Here are all log entries I found:

Messages in 'Delete Queue Entries':

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

    Hi Maren,

I have exactly the same problem.

The Return message contains: message not found.

But all the other messages contained in the TrexFilter.<something>.trc and TrexPerprocessorAlert.trc are the same.

Have you already managed to solve your problem ?

I have TREX and the PDFs with errors was in 7.0 format (Adobe Interactive Form). I also tried to index some Adobe 6.0 compatible PDF. They are indexed succesfully. So first I thought that the problem was that the 7.0 version is not supported by TREX yet. But I realized that 2 of 11 (all in 7.0 format) was also indexed successfully. What is the difference?

--> While the 2 files indexed properly are static interactive forms (fixed layout), the others are dynamic interactive forms (modifiable layout by end user).

So I think in my case the TREX simply does not support the dynamic interactive form yet.

My question is now: Do you know any documentation of the supported file format by TREX per TREX versions (perhaps the installation also contains a file with the related info, I will check it) ? But what is more interesting: a document or a site about the plan of the supported formats and next TREX releases. Do you have any idea where I can find the related info.

    Best regards,

    Hi Karsten,

Thanks for your fast response. The link was very useful.

I wrote an internal message about it (4524208) and got the info that dynamic interactive form will be handled properly by TREX in the next release, somewhen in the first quarter of 2006.
