reinstalling j2ee engine

hello all,

we uninstalled our j2ee engine (6.20) as there were some errors and then reinstalled it. the installation was successful without any errors.

we are able to start the server, dispatcher and the administrator without any errors unlike before.

but the problem is when we are trying to open it in a browser using http://<hostname>:<port>; we are getting an error "dispatcher running but no server connected" .

there are no errors being shown in the server.

can anybody tell us why is this happening?

is there anything else that we need to do?

thankyou

Hi,

One suggestion.Did you ensure you have given your server name port no in the preferences window.

or refer this earlier thread which is of same kind.It may help you.Today there is one more thread on the same topic )

Hi Anupama,

I forgot to answer your last question.U hv mentioned that DB icon is not visible after ur re-install of the server. What DB r u using? If it is other than MaxDB instance you cannot see the icon there in the WAS administration page.

Hi,

This error happens sometimes as the java dispatcher won't be communicating with the WAS server.

The remedy for this is restart your server through MMC/Administrator and try again 1-2 times. There is not much configurations required other than this.Once the dispatcher opens up the communication with WAS server it will definitely work fine.

hello guru,

we are trying what u have advised.

there is another issue with our engine, we are unable to see the dababase instance under the SAP system node (the blue icon) in the MMC

we had this problem even with the earlier engine.

can you throw some light?

thanks a lot.
