Enhance the data source

Hi all,

Today i got another requirement, it is a datasource enhancement, the data source is replicated already into BW side and the initialization and delta taken place already now i want to enhance that data source i want to add only one field to that datasource. Then what are the steps need to care about in R/3 side and BIW side. Please guide me.

Hi!

In R/3 side you got to ehance this datasource inRSA6 by ading a appendstructure and then write a functionmodule for filling the data.you can search this forum on how to enhance the datasource and writing the function module..it was explained many times.

and BW side replicate and re activate Tranmsfer rules and then re initialize the load

Thanks ashwin,

I have a doubt For the enahanced filed, i added append structure and i wrote user exit to populate that field values, for this new field is it needed to check field only option in RS02 or any . Please clarrify me

That totaly depends on your requirment.

If you want ur added field for selection option or if you want to hide the field or you want your field to be only field.

Hi!

i am not able to understand your requirement. RSO2 is for generic datasoources. and As far as i know you can do the enhancement solely in RSA6 and defining the function module(userextit) for loading the data...

are you enhancing a standard extractor..or..
