Hi Experts,
We have been trying to configure email notifications from IDM for Business role assignments. Currently we were able to send email notifications based on privileges assignment/removals.
As our role request and approval is happening at Business role level we would like to send email notification only once for each business role assignment instead of one email for each privilege associated with it.
I have noticed that there are notification tasks "1495/Trigger notification: user assigned role", "1498/Trigger notification: user role revoked" for this purpose but they are not linked to any other provisioning tasks. Can someone shed some light on how to enable/trigger these tasks.
If I am looking at the wrong tasks please point me in the right direction. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Krishh
Take those trigger notifications and copy them into your approval workflow. You could also modify them for your needs and create any type of notification you'd like. That way you will be able to create a notification based on the role. Once the provisioning process starts, that is based on privilege, not the role so you wouldn't want to add any notifications within the provisioning process that are based on role.
7.2 SP7 contains a lot of rework/improvement to the notification process. The method above will still work, but if you want the improvements such as ability to edit templates via the UI / send different e-mails based on user language, you would want to use the different process. So beware that there may be some rework you will have to do once you're up to that version.

It would depend on the version I think. If using SP6 you can set the notification on the approval task itself - on the approval tab set the notification task.
