SAP CLM Contract Storage Question

Hello Gurus

My company wants to implement / upgrade to Sourcing 9.0 and CLM 9.0. While designing the complete landscape, I wanted to know if the Contracts can be stored outside the Sourcing 9.0 Database in somekind of Enterprise Content Server or DMS etc? I have not found any documentation in this regards.

Please advise.
