Incorrect workflow status in ESS/MSS Leave request

Hi,

I am seeing a weird behaviour with the leave request workflow.

The status of the leave request have been changed to "POSTED" whereas the workflow status is still showing as "STARTED". I see that the record in Infotype 2001 is also created. Due to this the approver is still seeing the workitem in the UWL without any underlying request for approval.

This is the first time we are encountering such scenario in our system post going live after 1 year.

Can someone let me know as to how can i trace back the step by step document change which lead to this strange behaviour?

Also, do let me know if there is a way to complete the workflow as well?
