Read_text fm is unable to pass value of date

Hi all,

I am using FM READ_TEXT to get my Standard text into the lines table of this fm.

However i have mentioned sy-datum in the standard text. but when i retrive text from fm read_text it does not give me the sy-datum value. it shows &sy-datum& in the text.

Please help ,me.
