GATP Transportation scheduling

Hi Experts,

I am using condition technique to configure Transportation and shipment scheduling.

In R/3 we are using transit time from Route and a Route calendar is also there. I can maintain the transit time in condition type 'TRAN' but not sure how to setup the conditions so that GATP will honor the Route calendar .

found Note 1390018 - R/3 Transportation Lead times not considered in gATP which states this can be done :-

The transportation calendar for the TRAN condition can be changed only with a scheduling userexit: EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLVCRM_002.

Any suggestions on how this can be done ? Please let me know if anybody has any previous experience with this user exit.

I am not CIF'ing customers or shipping point or transportation zones to APO.

Please advice , if it is much easier to achive this through Configurable Process Scheduling.

Regards,

BS

Dear BS,

You cannot directly "use" route's transit time or calendar in the condition type viz. TRAN in GATP. You can however think of possible re-use of these transit times from route (i.e. if you think the transit times maintained are reasoable) using a program to copy these values to GATP condition records for condition type TRAN in which one of the condition key is ROUTE

You dont need to CIF customers and shipping points and tzones to define a transit time in GATP as it is purely conditional and conditons are passed from the requirement documents to APO at run time

However if your conditon table for TRAN is more conditional that orgin-destination location (FROM -TO)  then you are probably better off maintaining these condition records locally in GATP. Your routes transit time may be a "standard" transit time irrespective of means of transport used e.g. Air, land but in GATP you can have condition records based on condition keys in which you can have transit time dependent several other factors like means of transport, carrier, mode of transport and distance and other parameters. The only pre-condition is the values passed from requirement docs/sales order to APO are available and reliable.

As regards user exit,, I think this works but its been a long time since I used this. So cant remember. The solution above is to meet your functional needs without using any user exits.

Thanks
