New XML Form not showing up...

Former Member

I've created a new form... in fact, a few new forms -- some copies of existing ones and some from scratch -- and can't seem to get them to show up as an option when doing a "New".

I've checked the rules under System Administration\System Configuration\KM\CM\Form-Based Publishing\Forms Availability and everything seems to be fine -- the out-of-the-box rules are the only ones there, restricting some room forms to specific locations and enabling everything else globally. I've tried modifying the rules to specifically include the new form, but to no avail.

What else might be affecting the visibility of this new form?

Hi Mark,

Could you show me how you created your item in Forms Availability also the name of your form.

That you said is correct, this is de correct procedure.

Well, all of the out of the box forms show up in the "New>Form" menu. I have changed the App_All_Public rule to be more specifically exclusionary -- only excluding specific form IDs and I add form IDs to the list, they disappear from the New>Form menu, but the form that I have created simply does not appear.

The new form ID and name are both "Customer". Right now, the only rule in effect for the folder in question is the following:

App_All_Public

Folder Path: /**

Forms to Exclude: SAP_APP_DateAnnouncement

Forms to Include:

In that case, all original forms save that one show up; new forms do not. Changing the rule to exclude nothing and include only the the new form causes all original forms to show up and not the new form.

Hi Mark,

In this example you can only see Ingreso Form.

Folder path: /documents/Comunidades/Mantenimiento/Bienvenida/**

Forms to Exclude: H,M,S*

Forms to Include: Ingreso

It's work fine.

I have every confidence that your sample works just fine, and the rule you provide makes perfect sense. I also believe my example should be just fine, but it is not. Your answer is of absolutely no use in helping to determine what might be different between your experience and mine

So, I will repeat my original question: Is there anything other than these rules that affect form availability? Alternatively, is there some way of getting elightening log output?

Hello Mark,

I had the same problem. And this is how I solved it.

In the Global settings leave the "Force Availability of all Forms" field BLANK.

In the "Forms to include" field choose NONE.

Then in the folder settings, choose the folder path where your xml form is located, and include the name of the xml form created. You can leave the forms to exclude field BLANK.

Let me know if it works.

Hi Mark

I think my answer may not be of any use for you,but I am saying my experience...i also tries to do all these things and the form is not displayed. After all these I found that I had not generated the project in the XML form builder. I am just saving the form in the form builder and it did not get uploaded to etc/xmlforms.Check the form you created is available in this folder in KM. If it is not there generate it from the Xml Builder.

Thank you all, folks, for your input. Georgi had the answer. Interesting that there were what appeared to be the correct files in the appropriate directory before hitting the button, which is why it did not occur to me to hit it "again".

Thanks, Georgi for making me recheck my work.
