.Net Viewer - Generated report not showing grouped section values and fields overlap

I am able to successfully generate reports via the browser using the .Net viewer, however when the report is generated the group names do not show and the alignment of the fields in some sections is off or overlaps other fields. I have tried several methods that I found within the forums to resolve the issue, but none of these has worked. These include:

1) Setting the fields to can grow and limiting it to one line ( Note 1207237 )

2) Modifying the webconfig file to allow text clipping ( Note 1535833 )

3) Adding an intermediate page to capture the DPI value and set it prior to rendering. ( Note 1421021 or 1372993 )

4) Downloaded and installed SP4:

Support Pack 4

(v. 13.0.4.x)

SP 4 Fixed Issues Wiki32bit_13_0_4.msi64bit_13_0_4.msi13_0_4.msmclickonce_13_0_4

This only appears to affect the viewer as I can export the report from the viewer to a PDF and it is formatted correctly. Attached are two screenshots (GoodFormatting.jpg - generated in crystal designer and BadFormatting.jpg - generated in .Net viewer) of the report that show what it should look like and what it looks like from the viewer. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Shawn

We have recently installed Crystal Reports Server 2011 and use BI Launchpad to view our reports. We are on the same version as Shawn Marting and the latest service packs and are having this same issue....whether I use Active X or Web only preference I still have the same issue and as you said when I export the report to Excel it exports perfectly but the data should not view this way.  It doesn't in Crystal view this way in Crystal Reports. It only does this in the viewer.  The IE version doesn't make a difference either.

I tried the can grow and limiting to 1 line and it truncated my data in the fields...This worked perfectly in version 9 of Crystal which is what we are moving from.

Did you ever find a resolution for this Shawn?

Hi Teresa,

We are not using the report server or Launchpad so I am not sure if this will work for you. Also it's been some time, however I believe that I reverted to an earlier version of the runtime redistribution file (CRRuntime_64bit_13_0.msi) which may be the base version minus any service packs.

I found that all other version after this produced the same issue. That's why the SP3 suggestion above was not marked as correct. Now I have not tried installing anything after SP4 so if there is a newer version it may be corrected there.

Regards,

Shawn

This is a known issue with SP 4 for CRVS2010. Uninstall SP 4 and install SP 3.
