Hi
By looking through the topics in this forum I discovered how you can set a process type to be repeatable.
From RSPC (with chain open) -> Settings -> Maintain Process Types -> Set the repeated flag.
As default this is not set for the data load process type. As this is the one most likely to result in error (at least for us), we would like to make this repeatable. When doing so, the system says not to make entries (SAP entry). You are however allowed and just warned that this will be overwritten in updates etc.
This we can manage, but I do however wonder why the default is NOT to be repeatable? Are there any specific pitfalls connected to this? As I regard it, it is not different to running the package manually in AWB after a failure in the process chain.
Any input welcome
/Karsten
Hi Karsten,
I discussed this issue with some people from SAP on an SMO session. The said, that the default setting was set conservatively as it it impossible to predict all scenarios for Process Chain setups and therefore impossible to say whether repeat option is feasible or not. Hense You are warned, that changing these setttings is at own risk.

You are correct. This is a very handy option when it comes to production support and handling load failures. You can either change the standard SAP setting and take care to set it to repeatable after upgrades or create your own process type for data loading and have it set to repeatable.
