Two step stock transfer to move Quality inspection stock between two storage locations

Hello All,

My requirement is to transfer Quality Inspection stock between two storage locations of the same plant using a two step stock transfer (movement type - 313 & 315). The QM module has not been implemented.

The issue is that when I do a 313 to move stock to in transit and using stock type 'Quality Inspection' for a material for which QI stock exists in MMBE. On posting, it takes stock from unrestricted stock(decreases) instead of QI stock whereas I would want it to pick the QI stock.

Please explain if there is any standard route to achieve the same based on some movement type config changes (create a custom one and then make changes to achieve this). We are not looking for any user exit/enhancement here..

Please suggest.

Hi,

stock transfer between Sloc to Sloc will effect on unrestricted stock only.

you can't transfer qulaity stock untill you QM release.

if you want transfer Sloc to Sloc with QM, then change material master and apply 08 inspection type.

As I have mentioned, we are not implementing the QM module. I have selecing the QI stock type when doing the transfer posting for the material which has QI stock available in MMBE. Can you suggest any alterante solution to achieve the same.

see it from a technical point of view. you have only one field for the stock in transfer, So it can only be one stock status that can be served with that field, and this is by design the unrestricted use status.

Hi,

One alternate option is move the QI stock in issuing storage location to unrestricted use stock using 321 movement and then post stock transfer using 2 steps and then post the unrestricted use stock in receiving storage location to QI stock using 322 (since QM is not implemented).

As far as I have read, one step stock transfer allows movement between all stock types. Two step stock transfer allows posting only into unrestricted stock. Is this understanding correct?

How do I then achieve this requirement, then with minimal steps?

Hi,

Stock transfer between storage locations in 2 step procedure can be done only for Unrestricted use stock type. And that is why your unrestricted use stock is getting reduced during 313. This is SAP std.
