production order serial numbers in archived trx coa3

hi y'all

It is not possible to display the serial number (field  OBJK/table SER05) for an archived production order in transaction coa3, as the serial number is archived in a different archiving object.  I was told in an SAP OSS message that it is not possible to retrieve the serial number once the order is archived (but obviously, this could still be done by looking at the online table SER05... so that's not completely correct).

Does anyone have a suggestion of a way to display an archived production order that includes viewing the serial number in the same transaction please?

Hi Tanya,

Yes you can find the Production order that is archived if a serial number is assigned to it.

You have two options here: 1. Go to the serial number and click on the equipment view and go to History tab. You can find the orders assigned to the serial number.

2. You also can pick the object number and go to CDHDR table and fetch the changes done to the serial number.

Be sure you do not run this table during operation hours, As this consumes major time and load of your SAP server. Hope this is helpful.
