Hello Experts ,

I have done some enhancement to the screen using EEWB tool some days back/.

Now there are some more fields need to be added to the same screen. I am planning to do this new enhancement using AET. So Whether there will be any impact in the Stability of the system as i had added fields before EEWB and now i am planning to use AET ?

Also wanted to know how to delete a fields added through AET ?

Thanks and Regards,

Nikhil Kulkarni

Hello Nikhil,

It is clearly recommended to use the AET for new enhancements, if it is supported in the installed release.

The EEWB is still supported in order to allow maintenance of existing extensions and for special cases which are not supported by the AET.

A migration of EEWB field extensions is supported from eHP1 (but is not always possible).

Follow below procedure for deletion of fields

  1. Start SAP CRM and select the application in which you want to delete a custom field.
  2. Start the view configuration in the application.
  3. Click Show Enhancements.
  4. Select an enhanced object, if several enhanced objects are available.
  5. Click Edit List in the Custom Fields block to change to the edit mode.
  6. Select a custom field and click the Delete icon.
  7. Click Save and Generate to delete the field.
  8. Remove the deleted field in the UI Configuration Tool.

You can delete the AET field throught AET,the deletion will be saved in transport request similar to creation of field;also note the delete would append the structure too..

Also note if your object is not yet released then it will be locked to that user and you will be able to delete with same user only

Hi Nikhil,

  • You can add fields through AET also. There will not be any impact on EEWB fields.
  • In AET you will get the option to delete fields that created through AET.

okay , so there will be no issues if the EEWB and AET developments reside in the same package.
