Error when calculating cost for network(When new material is saved)

Hi All,

There an Issue related to PS… where user need to create PR for materials for service.

User is successful in creating 4 material related to Service but enable to create 5^th one and Error which he is getting in Log is “Material type does not Exist”.

I had suggested him to create WBS element Activity (Service) for service materials but that did not work.

Each and every details of the first material and the material which user want to create are same to same.

The first material details are same as it is in new material, But getting error.

However, I was able to create 2 PRs despite the error message –

Can you please advise how we get round this problem of the error message?

Log Error-:Material type does not Exist mgsNo 179 financial accounting

Hi Roshan,

Please check your settings for the material type/ account category in OMSK

Also check settings for the quantity and value update of the material type in OMS2.

Then to check your settings, run simulation of account determination for material in plan using OMWB.

You can involve MM consultant to check this configuration.

We have created 4 material  to a internal activity in the network earlier, but when tried to create 5th material to same activity at the time of saving it is giving an error.

Error- "Error while calculating Cost, log is deleted when saving do you want to save?".

When I checked the log in CJ20N, it is showing following reasons- Material type does not exist . MsgNo. -179 financial accounting(CK).

I just want to clarify that the first material of the activity and the material which is giving error have same General data are same purchase data.

Can this error be related to budget?

Or some network related issue?

Please suggest....

I don't think this error is related to budget.

Still for cross checking, you can check what is the person responsible maintained in WBS.

Check from HR master data record whether that person responsible maintained in not in Terminated status.

You need to take help of HR consultant to check this.

Are you assigning RM to the Internal Actiity is it right..?  if yes, then the RM having the Price in the material master recrod..!  Might be that is the reason it is giving the error.  Pl check ..!
