Dear All ,

sapstartsrv.log is growing big under E:\usr\sap\R3P\DVEBMGS0 .

Note : we are unable to open log file since morethan 8GB . currently sapstartsrv.log is 8.5 GB occupied

Please advice .

Hi John,

This is something unsusual. Sapstartsrv process is hanged and hence growing huge in size. you need to do the following.

1) Stop SAP system

2) Stop/ kill sapstartsrv from taskmanager.

3) Rename sapstartsrv.log

4) From services.msc, restart the sapstartsrv process

5) start the sap instance.

This should resolve the issue.

Hello All,

Permanent fix is needs to upgrade latest Kernal

or

Currently E drive have 24 GB free space out of 30GB .

Incase E drive getting reached threshold value or E drive have less space , we have to follow below steps .

sapcontrol -nr 00 -function RestartService  (Command will safely restart sapstartsrv service)

The above command will *not* impact SAP. It will *not* stop the system!
