Steps to be followed for upgrading from Sap 4.7 to SAP 6.0 for FICO

Dear Gurus,

I got a requirement for upgrading the SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ERP 6.0 for which I need the documents/steps/link which will provide the complete information for the steps to be carried out in FICO module

Kindly share the same at the earliest, as it an urgent requirement. Your immediate help is highly appreciated

Hello Ramakrishnan,

a system upgrade from 470 to 600 is a complete upgrade, you cannot upgrade only FICO component. The entire R/3 will be upgraded.

There's no special procedure for FICO - it'll get upgraded like the rest of the application components. Please make sure to generate the XML stack file from your SolutionManager (maintenance optimizer) and to use the very last SUM (software update manager) version to carry on the upgrade.

Hi Rama,

As per my understanding your question is related to ECC 6.0 functional upgrade. Best place to check based on your company's need is the upgrade master guide.For example if you have implemented Order-to-cash, check specific changes and enhencement that area. So master guide is the main source of info.

If your question is related to technical upgrade; it will be stright forward and check SUM 1.0 SP6 guide.

Above all best practice is to perform upgrade on your sandbox system and ask your FICO team to perform a comparison between old and new release; not the upgrade blue print but some evaluation.
