If i'm installing a BC ODS but already someone has installed it and is using it. So how can I install my own. what i mean to ask, Can I install a duplicate one that only I can use and upload my data in???

Hi Fran,
If the ODS in question sis already installed, you cannot install a duplicate copy of it. But if you need the same structure for some testing, you can create a new ODS and use the original BC ODS as a "copy from" while creating the new ODS. It is perfectly ok to map the update rules on the same InfoSource as the BC ODS is using.

No you do not need to make copies of hte business content InfoObjects. Actually when you create your new ODS as a Copy From the BC ODS, the InfoObjects do not get copied. The same InfoObjects can be reused in multiple data targets without any issue. In fact creating copies will not let you link up different business applications either...imagine if you had 10 different InfoObjects for CostCenter, all of them the same, yet you cannot relate each to the other. In short, don't worry and just go ahead and create your ODS.
