Extraction of Planning Area

For data extraction from PA,I created Data source for the PA but in RSA1, I could not able to see the Data Source.

I can see the backup cube but not the Data Source.

What might be the problem.

Hi Prasad,

Steps to consider..

First -->create Export / Generate Data source

Second--> You have to replicate the Data source's through datamart at RSA1 ..then only it will visible

Hi Ravi,

2-3 times I created Data Source and

2-3 times I replicated the Datasource in RSA1 but still in Data Marts I could not able

to see my Data Source.

Extracting Data from a Planning Area

Procedure

Generate an export DataSource for the planning area. To do so, proceed as follows:

  On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Demand Planning ® Environment ® Administration of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning

Select the planning area and, in the context menu, choose Change/Display

In planning area maintenance, choose Extras ® Generate DataSource

Click on Generate data source u will find the below screen

Or u can go through T CODE /N/SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR

A dialog box appears in which you enter a name for the data source.

Enter Name of Data source name as u like   and click on  execute  as show below

A screen with details for the data source appears.

Your selection here does not influence the fields that are included in the export structure.

Select the  Hide field indicator for the fields (InfoObjects) that you do not want to transfer.

The field for the planning version is selected by default; you cannot deselect it.

This means that you must enter a planning version in the InfoPackage later.

Make a note of the DataSource name.

Choose Save.

After u click on save button u will find the status on status bar as shown below

After generating data source u can create  Back up cube  here itself or in ADMINISTRATOR WORK BENCH IN T CODE RSA1

Click on data backup tab as shown in screen

Click on generate infocube form planning area

On  popup window opens  Select the Planning Area  and give cube name to be  create automatically by system  with all characteristics  ,

key figures and time characteristics    exists in PA , Select  UR info area to  generate the cube in that info area

Provide all details

After  giving all the details  click on execute

And  u will find one popup  window (Read the test)  and click yes u will find KF IN cube 

U can see the status showing as shown below

U can find the above screen showing that cube is created successfully  and click continue

After creating the cube   Go to t code  RSA1 Or click on   Data Warehousing Wb tab so u can go directly to Administrator  workbench

Go to Data source  in Modelling

And  select data source in BI   In BI APOCLNT800

Open the application component  as shown below  BW  

In BW  Select Datamarts  as shown below and replicate the datamarts by R-CLICK the mouse

U will find the status of system while replicating

After replicating  u will see one popup window  select as data source RSDA  and click on continue

Click on back  ground  

After replicating u  will find the  Data source

Activate the  data source

To activate data source click on change and click on activate

U can find the green color indicating that data source activated

Provide the respective details

After entering  target details click on continue

Here  u assign the Unit of measure to Additional field 1,2,3,4,5, to activate  the transformation

To Create info package  R - CLICK on data source

Here u will find  fields  planning is mandatory

Here we can  run info package in foreground or background

For better performance tuning we selected  as start in background

Click on immediate and cick on save

Click on start for running job in background

Go to t code  SM37 for checking  back ground jobs

Click on execute to find  the jobs

Select  the job  and go to job log

Here will find  thee job log

Now data was requested to PSA we can check PSA TABLES

To check the PSA Tables click  on psa

Select  the data records

And click on continue

Now u  will find the records in PSA

Here u can find the flow  after doing info package system  fetching the data form source to PSA as shown  below image

Now we have to send the data form PSA TO CUBE 

To send the data form  PSA TO CUBE we have to run DTP

R-CLICK ON data source or in R-click in info cube

Click on continue

Activate and save  to enable the execute tab

After executing u will find the execute tab  enabled

Now click on execute to run DTP 

Click on yes to display the monitor

Data was requested  to PSA To cube  to see the data click on target 

Select the  cube and click on contents

After replicating I am not getting any popup window and also I could not able to see status of system as replicating.

2-3 times I tried replicating.

Is this system problem.Or I am missing something.

Did you check whether this is because of missing authorization.Please try SU53 immedialy after that..

Also try to test the data source in RSA3 to see whether your data source is really active or not ?
