Hi everybody,
We have this strange thing with just one of the specification symbols. It does not resolve to the value in the specification when running the report.
We checked the customising, we compared the symbol to a similar one and found no differences. What is hidden is hidden and what should not be hidden is not. I do not know where to look anymore.
Can anybody help out? Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Caroline
Hi Caroline,
When I run into issues like this, I remove the symbol from the template and re-add it via the symbol/property tree.
I run into issues a lot when adding page breaks. I sometimes have to highlight the area I want to be hidden and make it hidden several times before it finally is hidden. I believe this is because the paragraph marker after the insert is not hidden. I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Jason

Dear Caroline
as Jason explained: in WWI template especially "carriage return" characters are "critical" and "misuese" of them can lead to the fact that the value is not displayed. If I remember correct: the value should be transported to value file and during WWI process the value will be surpressed. So may be check value file whcih is generated. If we are talking about a "normal" WWI layout please go on like Jason explained. If we are talking about Label WWI layouts: please refer to several paralell threads in this forum. There are "issues" with "textboxes", "garphic is shown" behind other text; if you used dynamic text sizing additionally problems mighht come up
Any in any case. it is quite a good idea to use a "test template" only using the specifica part of the template which is new to test if the layout etc. if providing the right result.

Hi Caroline,
If you are dealing this problem in production environment, import the wwi template to development system and play around the symbols by adding and delete them. couple of symbols may hidden by the text boxes.
And also check in the wwi template (CG42), under font - hidden check box.
Regards
kamal
