How to exclude Open Production Order in Demand Management.

Dear Gurus.

I using Planning Strategy 11 for material "X",this material having open Production order for quantity 100 which is not confirmed but released. Now I am entering PIR for Material "X" of 50 Quantity,When I am running MRP, system not generating any Planned Order for this requirement and consume the open order quantity.

I want to exclude this Open order quantity  and to create Planned order for material X having quantity 50.

Please suggest how can we map this Process in SAP.

Thanks.

Nitin

Nitin,

Did you try creating a storage location for the material that is excluded from MRP planning (MM02 > MRP4 Tab), and then changing the production order to point to that storage location (CO02 > Goods Receipt Tab)?

Dear Nitin,

Generally when we use PIRs, they are created well in advance. The minimum period that I have seen is a month. MRP does net requirements calculation and generates planned orders for the shortage qty.

In your scenario, it appears that you are creating PIR at a later stage and expect a planned order for it. The requirement to create a planned order for this PIR does not seem to be right to me since a prod.order already exists.

If the business still need a planned order, they should create planned/prod. order instead of PIR.

Jigar,

OPJJ is only relevant for availability checking.  I has no relevance to MRP or planning.
