    Thanks for ur replies,

    the problem solved, what I did I go through logs and I find that the "ContentsXML" folder was missing under /oracle/oraInventory. So I copied that folder from other system and change the SID accordingly, then i started again and it worked.

    i always thanks you people that you are always ready to help.

    Hi,

    this is correct, because 10.2.0.5 is updated based on the previous version. I mean if OraDb10g_home1 is you 10.2.0.4 database which needs to upgraded, then it is right.

    Best regards,
    James

    Hi Farooq,

    Move to next screens and check if it is picking up correct information of other details, if yes then proceed with upgrade.

    Suggest you to upgrade your database version to supported one, 10g is out of support and not sure about your SAP versions!

    Regards,

    Harish Karra

    Hi Farooq,

    do you set for your user the environment variables 'ORACLE_HOME' and 'ORACLE_SID' before you start the update ?
    (see note 830578). And you start the Pre-Upgrade Information Tool first ? Also not forget to install the lastest 10g Opatch.

    And yes, Oracle 10 is out of support many years now, better make an upgrade to the latest version of Oracle 11;
    will safe you a lot of work and time. You get no support for Oracle 10 from SAP.

    with regards,

    Michael
