ODS activation after load data package without master data

Former Member

hi,

I configured datapackage not to update data if no master data exists and error handing: valid records update, reporting possible.

After loading data request is red in monitor (because I have no sids for two characteristics) and ODS activation failed

In ODS maintenance -> requests tab request is green but not availibe for reporting

I thought that after setting two options mentioned above (not to update data if no master data exists and error handing: valid records update, reporting possible) ODS will be activated, reporting availible and infocube will be updated (loaded from ODS) and for records without SIDs separate data package will be created?

1. Am I wrong, and system behaviour is correct?

2. Can infopackage be splitted, ODS activated etc. and I am missing some configuration?

Regards,

Andrzej

Andrzej,

The request was not getting avavilable for reporting before setting "no master data exists and error handing: valid records update" also??

hi Rohini,

before that it was availible but it was allowed to upload transactional data when MD did not exist.

My aim is to comfigure system in such way:

Each time I load transactional data some MD does not exist. Up to now I allow to upload all transactional data but later I had to delete some records because I make some calculations on master data. A lot of time took looking for that faulty records.

So now I want to upload good records, make calculations fot them, activate and make availible for users to report on them. Later check manually faulty records correct them and upload.

Later check manually faulty records correct them and upload.

Do you know what those transcation data which are faulty. You can filter those records if you have any fixed condition. And this condition can be written in the update rule of an info object.

Or if those faulty data is in sequence then you can full load by placing the selection parameter for those particular records you want to upload.

May be if you put up you exact condititon then BW Gurus out here can help you in much better way.

Hi Andrzej,

The SID's for ODS are created only when the ODS is selected for Bex Reporting. Probably you need to select that checkbox in the settings.

hi Dinesh,

you you missunderstood me a little, problem is: can I split datapackage records between two requests - one with good data for which ODS will be activated and another with errorous which I can upload later after maintaining lack master data

Regards,

Andrzej

ps. I have set Bex Reporting checkbox

Hi Andrzej,

You can split the datapackage records into good (green) and errors (red) if you use processing as Only PSA and Update subsequently into Data Targets (3rd option in Processing tab of Infopackage).

Hope this helps...

hi Bhanu,

that is what I meant (I remember you wrote me once about this possibility) but still there is only one package and ODS does not activate...

Maybe I need to do some configuration in ODS maintenance...?

hi,

I have tried to change some configuration but still I can not split request on one with good data and one with bad data.

Do somebody know what could be missing??

Andrzej
