BUG: MRP Order Recommendation uses wrong Warehouse

Hi

I am on 8.82 PL10 and found that the Order Recommendation is not using the Default Warehouse set in General Settings and is instead using the the top of the list (in alphabetical order) for "To Whse" for items that do not have explicitly set a special Default Warehouse in Item Master.

Coul somebody of SAP please confirm this bug and give me an idea when this will be patched?

Thanks and best regards

Franz

Hi Franz Leu

Check with the SAP Note

897736  - Default WH in MRP Recommendations...

Symptom

Change Warehouse from order recommendation report window

Cause

Functionality Description

Solution

After running an MRP wizard it is recommended to create some Purchase or  Production Orders but the user wants to change the recommended warehouse.

It is a definition in Business One that the default WH (Warehouse) is chosen as follows:

For 'buy' items the WH in the MRP wizard recommendations window is  pulled from the Item Master Data (Default WH) Stock Tab or if that is  not defined, WH information comes from General Settings -> Stock tab -> Default WH. 'buy' items.
This information is always pulled from the Item Master Data regardless  if there are different processes in place for the different Bill of Materials and production processes.

For 'make' BOM items (Parent Items) the default warehouse is pulled from the BOM definition and cannot be overwritten by a default warehouse in the Item Master Data of the Parent.

The recommended destination warehouse for the purchase or production Orders can be changed in the Order Recommendation Report.
Go to - MRP - Order Recommendation Report. Here you can select the MRP Wizard you just ran and create the purchase orders with the new Warehouse code.

Other terms

MRP, Default Warehouse, recommendation, report, Destination Warehouse, SAP Business One

Hope Helpful

Kennedy

Thanks for your answer.

Again, I cannot find the SAP note ...and I still did not get an answer from Jition how and where to search for the SAP notes. Maybe you can give me a hint. Searching all of the SAP webpage with the note # does not give any results.

This is exactly what does not work. If the item has no explicitly defined default whs in Item Master Data, it does NOT pull the default whs setting from General Settings! It simply puts the alphabetically first whs from the whs list, regardless of the default setting.

Hi Franz Leu

Use this link and login with s user id.

https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/smb/sbocustomer

In the Page you have tab Get Support there you can search for the Notes.

Can you post the screens shot of the General Settings -> Stock tab -> Default WH.

Kennedy,

The link helped. I could find the note and it describes exactly how it should be, how I want it to be and how it was in 8.81, but it is NOT in 8.82 PL10!

Default WH in General / Stock is set to the one it should be. Everything is setup perfectly.

In the mean time I filed a bug with SAP.

Thanks anyway.

Franz

I've opened a Bug ticket with SAP. This is still pending ... and will take some time I assume.

Hi,

Please set default warehouse under item master-->inventory tab and run MRP.

Thanks & Regards,

Thanks for trying to help. However, this is a workaround as short-term-fix for a single item and not really a solution for the bug, specially not with hundreds of items. Re-reading my opening thread you'll see that I already know that anyway.
