Problem saving Analysis in SAP Portal

Former Member

Hello experts,

we are on SAP BW 7.3 with BO 4.0 SP 04. We integrate BO Analysis for OLAP into our Portal using standard iView "SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer Template" with CUID.

All works fine. I can analyse data and work with the report. I also can open a new report. What I can't do is to save an analysis report directly or as analysis view.

I know with "SAP BusinessObjects Document List Template" I can open and save everything what is available in the BO LaunchPad. But what I want is to deliver a single report which is able to save a view from this report.

Is this possible in a way?

Thank you!

Peter

Hi Peter,

A few follow up questions:

1. Could you perform the same workflow (create and save) directly in BI Platform using the same BOE user account?

2. In which folder are you trying to save the report (e.g. your Favorites folder, or any other folder)?

3. Could you save any other content (e.g. CR, or WebI) into the same folder using the iView from SAP EP?

4. Which version of Analysis for OLAP are you using?

5. Could you please clarify what you meant by "What I can't do is to save an analysis report directly"? For example, do you mean you get an error, or the Save icon is disabled, or, you cannot open the Save dialog, or something else?

Hello Boris,

thank you for your questions!

It works fine within the BI Platform. I can save an analysis report. I can save a analysis view from a report. Both doesn't work within SAP Portal. There I get a save dialog. But if I press save nothing happens anymore. I even can get out of the save dialog any more, have to change to a another object within the portal or refresh the URL.

I tried both, favorites and some different folders. Both work within BI Plattform and doesn't work within SAP Portal.

With CR I see no option to save. WebI seems to work. There we use the same Viewer iView.

As far as I understand Analysis for OLAP is part of BI Plattform. For BI Plattform we are on BO 4.0 SP5.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the additional information and clarifications.

Are both Analysis, edition for OLAP (A-OLAP) and SAP Enterprise Portal
(EP) running on the same web application server or two different web application
servers? If it’s two different servers, then are they on the same domain or
different domains?

Finally, do you get any JavaScript errors in your workflow?

I suspect the problem has to do with “JavaScript Same Origin
Policy”, which is described here: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/s4Q_E

There was a similar issue addressed in A-OLAP BI4.0 SP04 Patch 4.7
release via ADAPT01669938, which will be also included in the upcoming BI4.0
SP06 release. However, the resolution has not been added to any SP05 patches
yet, and I would suggest you open a ticket with our support group to get it included
into one of the upcoming SP05 patch releases.

Regards,

Boris
