BDC for PFCG in SHDB not getting recorded

Dear All,

In one SAP Development System...I am trying to record a BDC from SHDB for transaction PFCG, but after entering the transaction and hitting "Start Recording button", it is directly going to the recording table and not going to PFCG screens. While for other transactions like VA01,VA02,ME21N..etc...its recording fine.

I have all authorization and rights for PFCG.( I can manually create a Role ).

While i tried with other SAP systems and it worked fine..means allowed me to record BDC for PFCG..

Is there any setting in previous system which stops BDC recording of PFCG ???

Please Suggest.

PFCG is an enjoy transaction (there are frontend control like text editor and tree) so many recordings are not allowed (Note 311440 - Batch input and controls)

Did you

• try the same exact recording on the system where "it worked fine" ?
• look for BAPI related to roles like BAPI_JOBROLE_CLONE (must be copied to ZBAPI and uncommented ?) or BAPI_USER_ACTGROUPS_ASSIGN or even function modules of package S_PROFGEN ?

I agree with you. BDC on Enjoy transactions are not recommended. But as i mentioned , I have successfully recorded a BDC on one system...but when trying to do a recording on other system....it is even going to the first screen of PFCG...(its o.k, if recording is not perfect but at least it should go till first screen ).

Again...Is there any setting in the system which stops BDC recording of PFCG ???

Did you look for messages in SM21 or authority check in SU53 or the like ?
