how to schedule online backup in sap

Hi export,

  i am schedule first time online backup. give me step by step proses  of online backup.

Hi Amit,

Dont know the platform, Just posting a few steps which might be related..

Firstly check whether disk/tape is inserted into required drive,

Then goto DB13 or DB13OLD,

Under current date (todays date) double click on empty slot to see a popup window,

In the 2nd page you will find an option to Initialize,

Select on that and refresh till the slot color turns green (it means initializing finished),

Again double click on the below slot and select option Whole database online + Redo log backup.

Now you can check it in DB12 & BGD Job in sm50.

All you need to do is schedule a script in the crontab (Unix) or scheduled tasks (Windows) to trigger the backup
