PM: Work center XXXX in plant XXXX has no cost center

Former Member

Dear Experts,

Just to set your expectations, I'm new to this and I'm still trying to learn.

My problem is having the subject error after clicking on "Determine cost" button in IW32 and viewing the cost determination log under (Goto>Logs>Cost Determination). I have read an article regarding this but it did not fix my issue.

I have checked IR03 under costing tab for a maintained cost center for the specific plant and work center and it was there. The validity dates are 01.01.2012 - 31.12.9999(I have seen a post that the order date must be within the cost/work center validity date.) which have accommodated the order date 17.12.2012.

Now I'm stuck. Still trying to search the internet for possible solutions.

Thanks!

Daqs

Hi All,

I have fixed the problem. I'll explain our resolution so that those who would have the same issue in the future would know what to do.

Since we are using a Main Plant to park all Task List and this main plant really do not handle orders. What we did is to create an enhancement to change the Plant in AFVGB before creating the order. Unfortunately it is not enough. The solution is to also change the ARBID field as well. This field is the ObjectID selected from CRHD table using Plant and Work Center as conditions.

Now I have new issues. Because upon loading the order via IW32, the functional said that it should auto compute the Internal Manpower cost instead of clicking the Determine Cost button.

Thanks to all that helped!

Not sure how you have corrected problem. But Congrats and good luck.

For your new issue... system will calculate cost at the time of order save.

Hi Yogesh,

Yup, It should only be like that. But I think it doesn't apply to our process as ours is a bit different. Using a main Plant to store task list and not do transactions has it's consequences. I'm trying to debug again and check what needs to be done.

Thanks!

Hi Peter,

Thank you for the reply.

The Error Message is:

Work center TECH in plant M80K has no cost center

The Full Message is:

Work center TECH in plant M80K has no cost center

Message no. CK130

Diagnosis

In the routing for this material, operation 0010 (and possibly sub-operation ) points to work center TECH in plant M80K. However, no cost center has been assigned to this work center. (Activities are valuated using the activity prices in cost center accounting to calculate the planned costs for an operation.)

System Response

The system cannot calculate the planned costs for the operation.

Procedure

Check the master data for the work center and assign a cost center to the work center.

The material number is in the costing log.
Check routing

I have followed this and verified that the cost center under Costing tab in IR03 exist and is still valid. Also the Activity Type is ok and is still valid when I checked KL03.

Hi Yogesh,

The only box that is checked in the Control tab for KS03 are Actual Revenues, Plan Revenues and Commitment update.

Some questions:

  • Are you trying to create an operation with a date before 01.01.2012
  • Are there any other WCs using this same CC, and do they issue the same message
  • Can you post the operation Dates tab date which is causing the issue

Hi Peter,

1. Nope. The date of the operation that I'm creating is 17.12.2012

2. Yes there is and I have just tested it and it's the same.

3. Please see below. The process I'm doing is IP10 to schedule maintenance plan and then IW32-Click on Determine cost and the view logs (Goto > Logs > Cost determination).

Item1:

Item 2:

Additional Info:

What the functionals actually did was to have 1 Main Plant without a cost center to handle all transactions and then from this plant they distribute it to the other plants which already contains the cost center.

Eventhough, The Plant that was used when creating the order was the correct plant with cost center and all.

Thanks!

When was maintenance plan started?

Can you retest following?

1 - Remove work center from maintenance plan and task list. (use diff work center and save)

2- Generate order from maintenance plan.(Manual call). are you getting same msg with different work center?

3- Replace original work center in maintenance plan? Do scheduling( manual call) see if you get same message.

In last response you mention that in newly created order you are getting same message.

Yogesh,

The Plan was plan date was 17.12.2012.

I will try to do these steps but it will take long as I need to research on how to do these tasks. This is the first time that I will actually handle PM module. Will update you the soonest.

Actually, the functional created the order. I just test it and was planning to make a fix using enhancement.

Thanks!

Is it only this WC causing the issue?

Are you using any developments in the order?

Mark,

Can you check what Activity type is maintained for the Operation under the Operations-Internal tab or send a screenshot. Also, check if a Price is maintained for the same Activity type in Tcode - KP26.

Also, doublecheck the Validity of the Work Center/Cost Center.

There is a similar thread for Network Orders and the User has got a solution:

http://scn.sap.com/thread/3220787

Hope that helps!

Thanks.

Hi Yogesh,

I can't seem to change the work center as the functionals must have configured only one work center per plant.

Hi Peter,

No. All work centers are encountering this error.

What do you mean by "Are you using any developments in the order?"?

Hi Wankash,

Thank you for your reply.

The Act Type is maintained in the Operations tab of IW32. A price is also maintained in KP26. The validity of the cost/work center is ok. Both are still valid.

I have already seen that thread but it didn't help. Still looking for solutions online.

Thanks!

I think you need to take help of ABAPer to debug program.

Mark,

What do your functional guys think the problem is??

If your ABAPers cannot help, then you may need to open an OSS Message to SAP to see what they recommend.

Hi Ajit,

Thank you for your reply.

The validity of the cost center in KS03 is from 01.01.2012 to 31.12.9999

Can you validate, if the cost center is still valid and you can select same cost center from drop down option/menu in work center.

Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the cost center is still valid. It's validity dates are 01.01.2012 to 31.12.9999 as per KS03 Tcode. Yes, I can still select the same cost center from IR02 when trying to modify the work center.

Thanks!

One more check. Check the activity type in work center. Check same activity type in KP26 for same cost center.

Check activity start date. it should not be before cost center valid from date.

Also provide the error msg screen shot.

Under Costing tab, what is the start date & end date mentioned for that work center??

Former Member

Hi Yogesh,

In KP26,The Activity type used in the Cost center is the same.

For the dates, Cost center validity dates is 01.01.2012 - 31.12.999 while the Activity dates are from 01.2012 - 12.2012.

I'm sorry but I cannot attach the screenshot. Please see below on the exact error message.
