Long time taken to copy a folder

Whenever I copy a folder , save it and then exit the screen, BPS seems to take at least 30 seconds to exit the screen to the folders selection screen. Can you advice why copying a folder takes so much time? What is going on when I Save and then exit the screen to the main folder selection screen?
