How to Trigger Customer Independent Requirement to create Purchase Requisition without having to run MRP?

HI

We are not using MRP Run currently and we would like to use MD61 to create Customer Independent Requirement (CIR) to trigger the creation of Purchase Requisition which will then be converted to Stock Transport Order.

Understood the standard SAP for CIR is that we must run MRP after CIR creation to create planned order and convert it to production order.

How to make Purchase Requsition created after CIR without MRP run?

Thanks.

Hi,

There are only 3 options to create PR's in std SAP.

  1. Create Manually
  2. Create through MRP
  3. Convert MRP generated planned order to PR's manually (only if procurement type is 'F')

You have to follow one of the options to create PR and there is no alternative. Output of MRP is planned order or purchase requisition based upon the procurement type and MRP planning parameters.

Hope this is clear.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, understood about the procurement type "F" (external procurement) in MRP View.

But we are trying not to have MRP Run via MD02/MD03 to generate the planned order to PR.

Please advise in the context of CIR (customer independent requirement).

Hi,

Once again confirming the same without MRP or manual creation there is no alternative to generate PR even though it is a CIR or any other type of demand such as PIR, sale order, production order etc.. Hope it is clear.

Hi

We are able to have PR generated after the creation of CIR. It is shown in the MD04.

We did not run MRP or activated MRP view for this.

Thanks.

Hi

I did not do the configuration for this but I just checked it is maintained in the Item Category of SD "0001" Requisition" that trigger the PR creation.

Once you create the CIR, you can go to MD83 to view this CIR "Sales Order", and you will find the Item Category "0001" (Requisition) there. Click on the Key to go to the Config.

Strange to see, I just check the configuration of SD Item Category "0001" and I do not see any key that mention PR.
