Versions in sales target planning (C4C)

Hi experts,

how do the versions in sales target planning have to be handled? Is it that they replace each other. So e.g. the salesman wants to rise the target and makes a second version? But the first version is still saved for documentation purpose. That’s what I thought about versions.

But why does the targets of the versions get sum up in the field “Total Target for Sales Unit” although just one of the versions is active? (see picture below) The first version has a target of 45.000€ and the second of 55.000€. The exact sum of these two numbers appears in the total target. This is not desired or not understood by me.

Thanks for help.

Hi all,

I have another question regarding sales planning...

Do you know how the field "Direct Manager" gets pre filled?

Thank you.

Sales representatives submit new forecasts to sales managers, who can request revised forecasts, if required. When the revised forecasts are complete, sales representatives can submit them to their managers anew.

Version management enables sales representatives and sales managers to keep track of any revisions that have occurred in their respective forecasts.

For a Better Understanding on the Same , I would like to ask you to refer the thread below

Thank you Prasanth for your response! I read the thread (, but I didn't understand why the target values of different versions get aggregated?? I mean, I revise the planning and decrease or increase the value based on the forecasts, but why summing up the values of active and not-active versions? Whats the logic behind this? For me it don't make sense...
