Error during changing material type using MMAM

Hi All,

There was a requirement to change from finished goods to trading goods, as the materials were newely created.It got changed with the T-code MMAM, the error which I am facing is now, when I am trying change anything in the said material master, the system is giving error

' Message no. MG144 :

The field Moving price is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry '

Please note that even when I put a value in Moving price, this error is coming.

Note :

Finished goods are maintained at Standard price

Trading goods are maintained at Moving average price.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Go through the below SAP note,

1695458  - Error "MG 144" is issued when you create/change material master data in transaction MM01/MM02

Hi,

As you are changing material type of a material from finished goods to trading goods.1st cross check number range logic for material which is designed for a material type!

If no issue, then go for following:

1.Change Price control for material of Finished goods from Standard price to Moving average price with  t.code:MM02

2.Now change material type of that material from finished goods to trading goods with t.code:MMAM

Looks like the field selection group used for the material type is referenced to a material type which has "costing view" and in that view "Profit center is made as mandatory field.

Please change the field selection group to a suitable one where profit centre is not mandatory or else populate the value of profit center when creating a materail master with PROD type.
