Advantages and disadvantages of Additional application instances on windows platform?

Hello Experts

We have a scenario where ECC 6.0 with DB2 DB running on HP Unix with 4 application servers in same Unix platform itself. Now we are planning to add more application servers on Windows platform. Can please give me the advantages and disadvantages of this scenario.
