LBWE - V3 job : Any impact with multiple schedules in a day

Former Member

Dear Gurus

Due to increase in the transaction data volume(which comes via a delta load to BW) everyday, for our logistics extractors we are planning to have multiple V3 job schedules( job control) in a day to complete job faster before our delta load process chains start. I need this because since few days we are experiencing long running of V3 jobs, which is delaying our delta load schedules. In this case, I just wanted to know that, during the business hours(where postings are going on) if we run the v3 jobs do we have any impact? Like loosing some records/documents? How does this job works to avoid any missing data.

Thank you all for your kind replies.

Regards

RR

Hi,

You can run V3 job multiple times, to avoid long running in one time.

There will not be any impact.

Rajesh

Hi RR,

it won't be good idea. rather than that, run V3 Job multiple in day. The V3 update already uses collective processing. You cannot do this in parallel.

Hi KR

In my earlier message, think I have wrongly mentioned the delta update method we are using. Sorry for the confusion created. We are using queued delta as delta method. I am planning to schedule queued delta in 4 different timings in a day to fill up the delta queue. I am not sure I can do this or not. I need you all experts advice on this.

Thank you.

Hi

You can schedule the v3 job multiple times, but it's  not good idea to run that v3 job during the business hours.

Hi RR,

You can run V3 job multiple in a day. but after completing first v3 schedule in that time interval, you can 2nd one in next time as your desired. 4 times in day. means, 8hrs once you need to schedule. if v3 job will finish in 8hrs it self, that would gr8 go with this option. if first schedule continue after 8hrs+ and 2nd v3 schedule will start, then there is chance to miss delta records(not sure, correct me if am wrong).

its depend on delta volume how much you can expect from source.

Hello all,

I have seen cases where V3 jobs runs every 5 minutes once in production. So I cannot understand the problems listed above.

Dear KR and Arunan

The longest running job is ran for <2hrs. So I believe if I schedule 8hrs once, sure it will finish before the next schedule.

Thank you all for the replies.
