identity column in a datawindow

I am using PB 12.5 build 2511 and Sql server 2008 as my dbms. I have a datawindow that has a primary key column in it. Guys who did initial development using SQL Anywhere and now we are using Sql server instead of using identity for this column just calculated the key from current time and used that key to supply from datawindow we are now thinking about changing the primary key column to be and identity based column. If I define 'identity' column on the update properties for this datawindow what would I have to do to make this work besides taking out the explicit value for this column from the updateable column list, will datawindow automatically refresh with the value inserted after update?

    Hi Javed;

    Yes, when an Identity column marked for use within a DWO, it will automatically perform a ReSelectRow ( ) method after you call the Update ( ) method. Thus, the new Identity column's value will now be in the DW's primary buffer for you to utilize.

    Note: I have much had better and consistent luck with SQL Server's identity column feature's proper behaviour using the SNC client driver.

    Regards ... Chris
