How do I activate SAP Fiori Launchpad in my browser/SAP Session?

I have setup and configured an AWS Account and activated an SAP Solution Manager 7.2 instance from SAP Cloud Appliance Library.

I´m able to logon to the SAP Instance in the traditional SAP GUI.

However, I´m not able to launch the SAP Fiori Launchpad in my SAP session.

Is this a browser issue or do I need to do some other configuration within the SAP system to enable SAP Fiori?

Update:

I am now able to launch the Fiori Launchpad using my local SAP GUI instance. I had to configure Virtual Machine Access Points in CAL to do this. First an entry for regular HTTP on the ABAP Type opening for port 8000. This is rerouted to an HTTPS destination, so I had to enter another Virtual Machine Access Points in CAL using HTTPS and port 44300.

The Fiori Launchpad then executes correctly.

It is using the Safari browser by default, and I want to change this to Chrome.

However, I cannot find out how to do this...

Anyone?

Thank you for helpful answers :).

I used the Virtual Machine logon, and since I´m using a Mac, I first had to download Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac. It worked fine.

I will also try out the other options here, just to see how it works.

Again; Thank you!

In addition, if you are using your local SAP GUI make sure that you have enabled HTTP access in your virtual machine properties, this is done in your CAL console for the system.

Hello Federico, this is a common issue.

If you are using SAP GUI instead of the .RDP file to access the system, you must add the system entry to your hosts file located at c:\\windows\system32\drivers\etc. Add the entry for the IP address and host name of the system, and make sure that the file is saved without a file extension.

If you access the Windows Frontend of the instance (.RDP file), the browser will automatically display the Launchpad and other web applications like Solution Documentation and Solution Administration.

You can also avoid this issue by using the Chrome Browser with the Virtual Hosts extension, this allows you to define the hostname and IP from within the Chrome browser, so you don't have to maintain the hosts file. You can then access these applications via browser favorites and don't need SAP GUI.

Hi! Did you try connecting to the Virtual Machine instead of the local SAP GUI?

I´m facing the same issue from local SAP GUI but I was able from VM.

I hope this helps
