Automatic storage location determination

My delivery type LF, being generated from order type OR, does not populate the Storage location automatically

I have maintained determination rules as MALA in delivery type, and the Shipping Conditions / Plant / Shipping Point in OVL3 point to storage location 0001.

The MMR of the material I am choosing is defined for this plant and storage location, and this storage location is assigned to the plant as well. We are not using WM module.

In the create delivery page, if I click for options in the storage location field, then it does allow me to chose the correct storage location 0001 - but it does not populate that on its own. How can I get that populated automatically?

Hi ,

I have tested a scenario by with out maintaining the storage condition in material master and in OVL3.This time storage location is not picking automatically..When I maintain the same it is working well.Please check whether you have maintained the proper storage condition in OVL3 and Material master

Thanks Raneesh - You have helped resolve my problem.... I was so focused on Storage Location maintenance in master data that I was overlooking the Storage Conditions maintenance in master data and corresponding maintenance in OVL3

After maintaining OVL3 with the correct storage conditions, sutomatic determination is happenning.

I would like to specifically thank you and generally thank Himavanth and Laxmipathi as well for their interest in helping me out.

Ensure that both the delivering plant and shipping point are flowing in sale order.

Thanks for your reply - Yes, Shipping point and Plant are getting correctly determined in the Sales Order itself. Material Master is maintained for that plant and Storage location, and so is OVL3.

Do I need to check any copy controls?

Hi Harish,

Also check in delivery item category whether the field "DETERMINE S.LOC" is selected or not.

Once again go through the settings Shipping point determination, in material master plant/storage loca1 tab whether the storage location is getting populated or not and finally OVL3.

If these settings are done correctly system will automatically determines storage location automatically in delivery.

Thanks for your reply - Yes, in Delivery item category (TAN), determine SLoc is checked. All other setting I have checked again. Shipping point and Plant are getting correctly determined in the Sales Order itself. Material Master is maintained for that plant and Storage location, and so is OVL3.

Do I need to check any copy controls?
