Error FSL-04005 and FSL-04006

Hi,

I'm installing Web AS 6.40 SR-1 on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9) and Oracle 9i (9.2.0.6). Often sapinst brings up the following error messages:

FSL-04005 Unable to wait for process ID xyz. No child processes.

FSL-04006 A system call failed due to unknown reasons: A process could not be waited for. No child. processes.

If I press the Retry button one more time the installer will execute the operations successful. In my opinion this problem only occurs if sapinst executes JAVA operations like "Deploying JDBC Libraries".

I would be thankful if you could help me.

Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Stephan

    Hi Stephan

I'm having the same problem only it is when I install the portal part on MaxDB. Clicking Retry doesn't work for me. I have tried the installation plenty times and I get stuck on the same error, every time...

Hope someone replies to this quickly!!!!

    Thanks

    Henri

      Hi !

      I have the same error.

I install a WAS java, and during the phase "Deploy via SDM/J2EE" the sapinst give me errors FSL-04005 and FSL-04006.

I stopped the sapinst, and restarted the sapinst, it didn't work.

I made a reboot of the server, and restarted the sapinst and I have the error again !!

What temp files did you delete ?

      Best regards.
