Imports from TEST --> PROD takes 4ever.

Hi,

We have a DEV, TEST, PROD landscape.

Now when I try to import Request from TEST -- >PROD it takes approx 15 minutes (for one simple Request.)

  • "DEV is our MASTER (CodeMaster)"

  • PROD consists of R3 and database in cluster, and 2 seperate application servers.

Any Pointes ?

Dear Martin,

I suggest you

1) start the transport

2) go to SM50 and check which a BGD runs the RDDIMP... job

3) if the process runs the job a lot of time

then :

(in SM50) go to the process and left-click it.

choose display file. it will show you the trace file of the process.

Kind Regards,

Dimitry

Hi,

Look at this log:

Selection for Import 04.08.2005 12:44:26 (0) Successfully Completed

Import 04.08.2005 12:57:00 (0) Successfully Completed

Check Versions 04.08.2005 13:00:17 (0) Successfully Completed

Generation of Programs and Screens 04.08.2005 13:05:18 (0) Successfully Completed

This is just a simple import taking almost 10 minutes.

I couldn't see the RDDIMP job (Maybe too fast ? I refreshed SM50 every now and then.)

Any pointers ?

Hello martin,

Maybe:

1) Check your tp and r3trans version.

2) Make a trace ST05 when you transport the chr.

Then locate in the trace long reading.

if you have hard-times in tracing, let me know.

Kind Regards,

Dimitry

Hello martin,

Maybe (part2):

3) Check your free space in usr\sap\trans

4) Check the size of the file: usr\sap\trans\buffer\<SID>

5) If the three systems are on seperate servers, please check whether there is a communication problem.

Kind Regards,

Dimitry

small clarification, that should be BGD process.

It's funny that the profile parameter that controls this process is actually called BTC but the process name is BGD...

Hello,

When you import transport request, you need BTC process for activation, generation, ... phases. Jobs RDDIMPDP* triger event wchich run tasks in BTC process, maybe you don't have free BTC procesess?
