I work with the 8.8.2 pl9

Administration -> Systsem Initialisation -> Company Details -> Basis Initialisation

I've checked the box for 'Mask Credit Card Numer', I can't uncheck it.

now it's locked.

I have Professional User license and it's a It's a Superuser.

Is there something else I need to do to untick it?

Hi Shai Cohen....

This setting cannot be reverted back it is a One time settings...

check with the Note

1649135  - Mask and Partially Remove Credit Card Number

Symptom

Currently, SAP Business One saves the full credit card number as encrypted in the database, which does not comply with the PCI Security Standards.

Solution

Since SAP Business One is not a payment gateway and it only stores the credit card number for information purposes, saving only the last four digits of the credit card number is one solution.

To provide this solution, SAP Business One has enhanced the use of the “Mask Credit Card Number” checkbox as of 8.82 patch level 02. To access the checkbox, choose “Administration -> System Initialization -> Company Details -> Basic Initialization”.

The detailed enhancements are as follows:

  • For new companies in 8.82 patch level 02:
The “Mask Credit Card Number” checkbox is selected by default.
    Note
    You cannot deselect the checkbox.

You can only enter the last four or fewer digits of the credit card number. Then, these digits are displayed with asterisks on the user interface, and are saved and encrypted in the database.
  • For existing companies upgraded to 8.82 patch level 02:
    • If you select the “Mask Credit Card Number” checkbox, for all existing credit cards, only the last four digits of the credit card numbers are retained. All the other digits are deleted.
When you specify a new credit card number, you can only enter its last four or fewer digits.
      Note
      You cannot deselect this checkbox.

For both existing and newly-created credit card numbers, only the last four or fewer digits are displayed on the user interface with asterisks, and are saved and encrypted in the database.
    • If you do not select the “Mask Credit Card Number” checkbox, all the existing credit card numbers remain unchanged.
When you specify a new credit card number, you can still enter the full credit card number which can be displayed on the user interface, and is saved and encrypted in the database.
      Recommendation
We recommend that you select the checkbox after you upgrade to SAP Business One 8.82 patch level 02, in order to comply with the PCI Security Standards.
