Hi Experts,
In Pool Asset Management, can we perform all requests starting from vehicle request to cost booking? At present we are using Zdevelopments for performing vehicle request and maintenance orders. After implementing PAM, can i be able to perform all these in standard transaction? Can any one provide me the steps involved in PAM?

What is ETM(Equipment and Tool Management)? Is it a separate module or is it a feature available in ECC6? What are its advantages?

ETM is separate module.
Its having functionality of Equipment Rental to Customer. It will enable option capturing the Equipment Rental request, capturing the usage of equipment at Customer site & billing the customer based on the usage of equipment.
Search in google, you will get more information about ETM.
Have a look at SAP Help link.

Hi Maheswaran,
I have gone through the document and found out that for PAM, each equipment should be defined in a pool. Can we define same equipment in different pools? In our case same equipment will be available in different WBS. At the end of month we need to create utilization orders for this equipment with different activity types(Usage rate will be different for different activity types). Is this feature available in PAM?
Regards,
Sibin
I think its not possible to define the same equipment in different pool.
If its not frequent shift from one WBS to another WBS, then it should be changed then & there if the equipment is shifted from one pool to another pool.
Also I don't think, creating WBS as a pool will be good option. Create a pool using different criteria & while settling the cost, select the appropriate WBS based on usage.
Hi Maheswaran,
Thanks a lot for your inputs. Actually we are creating activity types in KP26 and assigning this to equipment number in CR01 transaction codes. Later in IW31 we are preparing orders by mentioning Work center and activity types. In our case Work center and Equipment numbers are same. In settlement rule we will select either wbs or cost center. Presently we are doing this manually for all equipments. So after implementing APM, can we do it automatically?
Regards,
Sibin
I think, you get confused with PP Work Center & Maintenance Work Center.
Equipment & PP Work Center can have same code. But Maintenance Work Center is different from PP Work Center & Maintenance Activity types will be assigned in Maintenance Work Center for Labor cost.
In Maintenance Order, Maintenance work center will be selected & corresponding activity types will be selected. Based on that, Labor cost will be calculated.
While maintaining settlement rule, either define the settlement receiver manually (with different WBS or Cost Center) or make it automatic using user exit IWO10027 User exit: Generate user-defined settlement rule.
Hi Maheswaran,
We have configured activity types similar to that of labor cost.If we are giving 10 days for a work center, system will calculate utilization cost by multiplying activity type rate associated with this work center and number of days. Will the same settings work fine for PAM? Suppose if I had created a pool and assigned 10 equipments under it, can I transfer these equipments to a different pool and make work orders for these 2 pools separately?
Regards,
Sibin
