MF60 and LP12

Hi experts,

Pls let me know the difference in functionality of T code MF60 and LP12.

Someone has told to client about MF60 and now they are asking me the basic difference between MF60 and LP12.

MF60 is used to create TO for material transfer between Storage locations.

LP12 is used for storage locations which are activated for Warehouse Management activate wherein Transfer Requiremrnt thereby Transfer Order for WMgt is created.

In MF60, Stock Transfer Order Document is created whereas in WMgt, Transfer order is created for materials to be put in Storage Locations and not for interstorage location transfer.

What is the difference between the TO ( Transfer order)  created by MF60 and TO created by LP12?

Hi,

I think MF60 is used in REM (repetitive manufacturing) and LP12 in discrete manufacturing for creating the TO's for material staging.

LP12 to create a TR by date of requirements for a specific Supply Area.

Transaction MF60 is used for transfer of material between storage locatins. In al manufacturing units, aseparate storage location is maintained at production shop floor where only days requirement is stored. balance stock is kept in main store. In order to transfer this datys reqmt from main store to production store, MF60 is used.

If MF60 is used in REM, then why 'production order/ process order' tab is provided in screen of MF60 t code?

Hi,

I don't know much about MF60, but i have searched many SAP notes about MF60 and all the notes are showing in the application area 'PP-REM-PLL', that's where i came to know that it is related to REM.

I think production order field is used to pull the materials from various stoarge locations to the production order storage location , check this document.
