Hi All,

Im using ECC 6.0 EhP 6.

I have activated the "Define Cost Settings" check box for a particular Order Type and Plant Code combination, by using the following menu path. But I am still unable to see the costs at operation level in PM Orders. Pls. see images below for reference.

Is there any other settings that is required to achieve the calculation & display of order costs at operation level.

Your inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks.......... J K.

Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for ur response.

Pls. let me know, is it not possible to see operation level costs of an order within the Costs Tab of an order.

One another need is, suppose i had maintained 02 operations within an order and for each operation I would like to specify a cost center in the settlement rule. Is it possible that way and if so how.

Everyones input would be much appreciated. Thanks once again....... J K.

You can not see operation wise cost in cost tab of order.

You can not settle operation wise cost (I believe) rather you can settle cost in % on different cost center.

Hi Yogesh,

Logically, when operations wise costs can be segregated within an order, there should be a way around to settle the operations wise costs also to different cost centers.

% settlement to >1 cost center for an order has been available even before as well.

May be someone who is aware of this logic might be able to throw some light.

Let me wait and see for the response.

Thanks very much for ur valuable inputs...... J K.

hi

Kindly check  in order header using menu Extras>cost report>operation wise cost. ( but i have only EHP5 where i cannot able to see operation )

if you want to settle the each operation to different cost center, then just double click on the operation where you can see settlement rule button where you can specify the same

Hi Thyagarajan,

Sorry for the late response; I took some time to verify your inputs and found exteremly useful and rewarding.

My findings are as below which might be useful for the members too.

1. In SPRO, I have activated the 'define cost settings' functionaity at operations level, for a particular order type & plant combination.

2.  When I created an order with this particular order type & plant combination, the first thing i noticed was that the 'Settlement Rue' icon was found missing in the order header level.

3. I have maintained order operations and maitained material reservations for this order.

4. I tried to release the order but the system prevented the "Order Release"; rather the system gave me a warning message asking me to maintain settlement rule. As a consequence, the system status changed to 'Release Rejected'.

5. I have then maintained the settlement rule for each operation within the order. While doing so, the system would propose whether to maintain the settlement rule by default / without default.

6. After maintaining the settlement rule for each operation, I was able to release the order.

7. The 'Costs' tab in the order had the similar details of order costs (i.e. costs break up) as that of an order with an order type which was not configured for operations level costing.

8. However, I was able to see the operations wise costs break up for this order through "Extras --> Cost Reports --> Operation Costs Overview"

Your inputs were of immense help to me. I also thank the inputs from Yogesh.

Thanks very much once again and Best Regards.... J K.
