BPC 10 NW - Dimension Member ID too long

Former Member

Dear Experts,

I'm facing an issue with the dimension member ID in the BPC 10 NW.

In this new version, it's possible to define members with IDs longer than 20 characters

( up to 32 characters ).

When my user account has all rights on BW ( SAP_ALL profile assigned ), i'm able to create

a new dimension member with an ID longer than 20 characters.

However, if my user account doesn't have SAP_ALL profile assigned but has all BPC rights

to manage and process dimensions, it doesn't work at all. I'm having an error message telling me

that the member ID is too long ("Member ID length must be less than 20 characters").

Do you have any idea ? Is it a security issue ?

System information:

---------------------------

CPMBPC component Release 801 SP 1 (SAPK-80101INCPMBPC).

SAP_BW Component Release 731 SP 5 (SAPKW73105)

Thank you in advance for your help !

Best regards,

Alexandre AUDIAU

Hi VaraPrasadraju,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm not working with the same BW/BPC version than yours.

SAP_BW Release 731 and not 730.

CPMBPC Release 801 and not 800.

POASBC Release 100_731 and not 100_730.

So, i think that i need to send an OSS message to SAP.

Best Regards,

Alexandre

Hi Alexandre,

I would suggest you upgrade your BPC to SP08. SP01 is way too behind.

Hi Nilanjan,

Thanks for your quick reply.

There isn't SP08 on CPMBPC component (The latest level is SP1 and SP2 will be soon available ).

I guess you mean SP08 on SAP_BW component, right?

Hi Nilanjan,

OK, I didn't understand you were talking about SAP_BW component and not POASBC one.

I've checked on my BPC system and the SP Level is 1 (SAPK-10201INPOASBC).

I will ask to BC team to install SP8 and I will keep you advised.

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Hi Nilanjan,

I've checked one more time my system and I've seen that my POASBC component is on release 100_731 and not 100_730. My BPC system has been installed with the latest SP available for that component.

I think the best solution is to open an OSS message to SAP.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Alexandre,

Yes, BPC SP01 is available on BW 7.31.
