Business Objects Data Integrator and Metadata Mgmt

Hi Support,

I have installed  BO BI Platform 4.0 SP 4 FP 3.

Now we need to install BO Data Integrator Premium and BO Metadata Management.

Any clue?

Not sure I understand your question. We have installed similar setup.

But I assume when you say Data Integrator you are referring to Data Services, and the BO Metadata Management is now found in Information Steward

So do I have to install the hole BO Data Services 4.0 product?

The same happens with Metadata Mngt? Do I have to install Information Steward 4.0?

Do these Products can be installed in the BO BI Platform 4.0 server?

Hi Jorge,

This entirely depends on your Architecture and your environment and what you are trying to achieve.

Our setup is as follows;

We have our BOBJ 4 server on one box and then we have DS with Information Steward installed on a separate server these servers do not integrate to our BOBJ CMC and have their own IPS installed. The reason we took this approach was that our ETL team is separate from the BOBJ team and they wanted to manage their own security.  Depending on your environment you could integrate your DS and IS with your existing CMC

Yes in our environment  we have Dev, QA and Prod. But we also have a DR environment.

Hi Jorge,

No you will need to point to a DB Server. I know if you do not point BO 4.0 to a DB Server it will install MS SQL Express as part of the installation.
