Precalculated webtemplate/Authorization problem

Former Member

Hi BW experts,

I've precalculated a webtemplate in excel format and am downloading the same using Download Scheduler. I'm able to download the excel reports onto my local pc, but the result rows are not being displayed, instead the excel contains the text <b>'No Authorization'</b>. Could some one please suggest how to resolve this or what is the corresponding authorization object for this problem.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sanjay

Check if in the reporting agent you have the Pre-caculate user specifically. If so, then the user does not have auths to run the report with the restrictions that you have setup.

if not, then the report is running with the user ID that was used to schedule the report.

Try running the web template using the user ID in RSRT. If it runs fine, then it should download. Otherwise, give the user authorizations to the object that is missing.

Use the authorizaiton trace in RSSM to find the auth object.

Hi!

i think you are the query in this webtemplate is using some authorization variables and the user specified to run the precalculated webtemplate or you dont have authorization to view the content.

go to the query definition and check for the authorization varibles and verify that you have those authorizations in RSSM or PFCG.

go to precalculation definition in reporting agent and cvheck the users for authorizations... and verifiy that those user have authorizations for viewing the query in RSSM or PFCG.

If everything is proper check in RSRT to check whether you can view the webtemplate properly and if not verify the problem with debuging it in same transaction.

Hi Aneesh/Ashwin,

thanks for your response. As for your suggetions,

1> I'm not pre-calculating for any user specifically

2> I'm able to execute the webtemplate online from webapplication designer or browser , and also able to execute the query from Bex.

This being the case i'm not sure why i'm facing a problem when precalculating the webtemplate.

Please suggest if there is any thing else that i can check.

Best Regards,

Sanjay

hi sanjay,

have you check the authorisation at query level ? i had that problem in past. when ever i tried to run query via RSRT,web or bex - "no authorization" error used to come.

you might want to check role assigned to you.

Also, did you try to preview your webtemplate in Reporting agent "preview" tab? do u get same error ?

hope this helps.
