BW-BPS Info required

All,

I have to implement BPS here for my client and I have no clue how or where to start from.I went through SDN and got some links on help.sap.com etc.

I want to know whether for starting to work with BPS do we need to do any installation?

We are in BW 3.5.

Some basic steps to start working on BPS will really be helpful.

Hi,

First of all BW3.5 comes along with BPS in it.so there will be no need for any installations.

BPS is mainly used to create planning applications.so once you get to know the requirement for planning then you can start working in the planning workbench(BPS0) inorder to develop planning architecture(area,levels,packages,manual planning,functions etc...)...to know more about it best thing is help.sap.com and if u want any demos to get familiar with log in to sdn site and goto e-learning section and choose intermediate level as the expertise.there is a good demo on bps.hope this wud help you.If u want further detaisl mail me at ragavendran.b@gmail.com

Hi!

You dont need any special installations if you habe BW3.5.

first i think you need to understand your planning requirement and design and implement the BW model i mean transactional cubes and the links to the source system

then create the planning elements like Planning areas, planning levels and planning functions in BPS0 business planning workbench.
