Does Crystal Report support multi-threading?

Hi,

I’m trying to export my reports in PDF programmably but I got intermittent errors.  Sometime my app crash and I’m getting an application error with no more information.

I’m using VS .Net 2010 with CRVS2010.  I suspect the problem is because I send 10 reports to be export at the same time with threads (I use Parallel.ForEach (C#)).   Other point I didn’t get the error on Window 7 (where VS .Net 2010 installed) but get it on Windows 2008 R2 server and Windows 2003 SP2.

My guess is we can’t export rapport at the same time because sometime this cause conflict in memory.

Someone could confirm that?

Thanks for your help.

François

After a long time to understand RAS I tried to export my report with RAS and threads.  But still have the same problem application crash on multi-thread.  The only way to export my reports without error is with no thread or wait for the end of the thread before I begin the next.  If I run it at the same time my application often crash.

Thus I think I don’t have to go with RAS that appears to me a little bit complicated for a simple report export in winform environment.

The problem happens to me on windows server 2003 and Windows server 2008.  The problem didn’t happen on Windows 7 where my VisualStudio 2010 is installed.  In my lots of tests I saw that didn’t happen when I export an empty report (without data).  I use dataset so maybe the problem is with ADO.Net and Windows 2003 and Windows 2008.

If someone have similar problems please share it to help me to understand.

      Thanks,

      François
