Error when generating data model using the RFC Generator

"Exception of type CX_AXT_OPERATION_FAILED has occurred. See details for more information" comes up twice when I try to generate a data model. The details are:

"Program: <program name>_Q Include: <program name>_Q==========CU Line: 37 A DECIMALS specification must be made with P types in the OO context. Program: <program name>_Q_D Include: <program name>_Q==========CU Line: 37 A DECIMALS specification must be made with P types in the OO context. Program: <program name>_Q_DO Include: <program name>_Q==========CU Line: 37 A DECIMALS specification must be made with P types in the OO context."

Being new to all of this it all is foreign to me and searching for help has proved difficult. Any insight would be appreciated. I am using "How To... Create a Gateway Service Using the RFC Generator - Advanced Scenario" as a guide but I am using a custom function module instead of a BAPI.
