Linux edition connecting from computer other than server

Former Member

Hi,

After a days hard work, I managed to install the sneak preview 6.40 on Linux. Everything is working fine, as long as I am running on the server.

If I want to connect from another computer with the GUI or a URL it showing errors, i.e. host not reached, host not found etc.

This probably has to do with my lack of Linux knowlegde on ethernet interface configuration.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,

Vincent

As I know, the linux be installed with firewall enable. Did you check the setting for firewall? You must disable it or permit any access port 3200. If you work with X-Window, you can configure it with GUI. That is very easy.

Hallo Slash,

you're right Vincent should first try to disable the firewall.

Hello Vincent,

can you provide the output of "route -n" and "ifconfig" of your linux server and "ipconfig" of your (I think) Windows Client? Is there a firewall running on the Linux Box? What Distribution are you using?
